The Swipe Out Hunger Program aims to provide students who are food insecure, and/or who are experiencing an emergency situation, access to healthy and well-balanced meals in our campus dining halls.
To be eligible, students must be currently enrolled at UNC Charlotte.
If you meet this initial requirement and would like to complete a needs-based assessment to determine your further eligibility for the program, you can submit your inquiry via the Swipe Out Hunger form. Your inquiry should include specific information regarding why you are in need of this particular service. Do not fill out the form more than once. Submitting multiple applications will not expedite your request.
Once your application has been reviewed we will reach out to you via email.
If you are in need of immediate services, please visit the Jamil Niner Student Pantry during regular operating hours.

Students can donate up to two swipes from their meal plan per semester as part of Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week (November 15 - 21) from the dining plan app.
In the app, select Swipe Out Hunger in the Seasonal Specials section, then click Swipe Donation and check out.
Only one swipe may be donated per transaction so please consider donating two swipes through two separate transactions.
If you have a block plan, you can check your meal plan balance online. If you have The Daily Plan, you will need to wait at least 15 minutes before or after your last meal has been used.
Visit our tables in the Popp Martin Student Union and SoVi during Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week for questions, to learn how to volunteer at the pantry, or to donate to the pantry.
Please fill out the form at least 24 hours before your appointment or walk in. You will receive a message if we do not have your diaper size. If we currently have your requested size in stock, there will be a package for you that includes a set of wipes. The pack will have your name on it and will be behind the check in desk for your appointment. If you do not request it 24 hours in advance there is a chance you will not be able to receive the package of diapers.
Please keep in mind that currently, students and staff with dependents can get a pack of diapers/wipes two times per month due to our limited supply. You can reach back out next month with a new request as well.

This program is designed for students who are unable to shop at the pantry during regular hours due to school or work constraints.
Note: You are not permitted to utilize Shopping Appointments or Walk-In Wednesdays within the same week of utilizing the RecRe Program. Only 1 pantry service per week.
This form will be made available to students between Monday at 8. a.m. - Wednesday at 5 p.m.. Bags will be loaded Thursday afternoon with a pick up cut off on Monday at 8 a.m.
If items aren't picked up your request will be canceled and you will have to resubmit.
The bag is made with items from the pantry. Once approved, you will receive email confirmation along with pick up instructions with your locker number and location.
